Patricia Alice Gregg - Wyatt

August 12, 1961 - October 11, 2012

CHEYENNE, Wyo. | Patricia Alice Gregg-Wyatt, 51, died October 11, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. To honor Patricia’s compassionate spirit, her son Jonathan generously donated her corneas, so that others may have sight. Patricia was born August 12, 1961, in Rosebud, SD, to parents, Paul R. Gregg Sr. (WW II veteran) and Theresa Hollow Horn Bear. Patricia was baptized in the Roman Catholic Faith. She is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. Patricia was very proud of her heritage and is a great-granddaughter of Chief Hollow Horn Bear. As a youth she grew up mostly in the town of Rosebud, SD. She attended school in Rosebud and Pierre, South Dakota, as well as Kilgore, Nebraska. Still a youth, she moved to Rapid City in the 1970's with her mother and sibling. She attended school at South Junior High and Central High School. In 1982, Patricia married the love of her life, Render Wyatt, while he was stationed at Francis E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyo. Patricia moved to Cheyenne where she and her husband raised their blended family of three children. Patricia worked for several years as a housekeeper for various hotels and motels. More importantly, she worked hard to maintain her home and cook for her family, whom she loved dearly. Later, she became a very loving caretaker for her husband who is a disabled veteran and currently resides in a nursing home located in Cheyenne. Patricia is best remembered for her excellent cooking, being a “neat freak” and having a generous heart. Throughout the years and before Patricia’s health worsened, Patricia and her family made several trips back to South Dakota to visit family. She often brought gifts, especially to her parents. She called often and more recently maintained contact through Facebook. Survivors include her husband, Render Wyatt, Cheyenne; stepdaughter, Desiree Wyatt from Rapid City, daughter, Crystal Gregg, Indiana, son,Jonathan Wyatt, Cheyenne; two grandchildren, Kanyon Kilgore and Payton Shupe from Indiana;her stepmother, Veretta Gregg of Mission; brothers, PR Gregg-Bear and Terry Gregg (Janette) from Rosebud, and Howard Gregg from Rapid City; sisters, Barbara Jones (Joe), Susan Gregg from Rapid City, Carole Gregg and Gail Gregg from Mission and Rose Kirschgesler (Jim) from Aberdeen; stepbrother, Ronnie Roubideaux of Mission and stepsister, Nita Roubideaux from Rosebud, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Hollow Horn Bear, stepfather, Albert Lulow, niece, Theresa Hultgren, sister, Delores Gregg, and recently her father, Paul R. Gregg Sr. The Rooks Funeral Chapel in Mission, SD, has been entrusted with her care. A one night wake will begin today at the Rosebud Community Hall. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct 16, 2012 at St. Charles Church in St. Francis, SD, with Fr. Jim Michalski, S.J. officiating. Burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery in St. Francis. A luncheon will be served shortly after at the Rosebud Community Hall Chief Duane Hollow Horn Bear will also assist the family in prayer.
